Organic Stone Forms Rise Beside the Pyramids for Art D’Égypte
For Art D’Égypte’s Forever Is Now 05, StudioPROBA reveals Echoes of the Infinite — a monumental installation where organic stone forms stand in quiet dialogue with the Giza pyramids. Widely known for her joyful murals and color-driven sculptural work, designer Alex

Proba expands her vocabulary into ancient matter, translating her signature biomorphic forms into geological mass.
Inspiration comes from Egyptian cosmology that echoes through Giza Pyramids:
the blue lotus symbolizes renewal,
celestial shapes reference navigation by the Milky Way,
and scarab-like silhouettes gesture toward cycles of transformation.
Carved from marble, onyx, travertine, and quartzite, each stone carries veins and translucencies formed over millennia. “The materials themselves already hold memory and emotion,” Proba says. “Our work was to shape them into forms that speak of transformation, rebirth, and infinite time.”
A Collaboration Where Material Becomes Experience

The installation was produced with SolidNature, a company known for its expertise in sourcing and engineering monumental stone. Despite their organic softness, the curves and interlocking geometries required extreme technical precision.
“Stone is eternal — it forms, erodes, reshapes, and reforms over millennia,” notes SolidNature CEO David Mahyari. “Working with Alex, we wanted to honor that cycle while creating something rooted in the landscape and pointing toward the future.”
Visitors navigate narrow passages and open clearings, moving through an environment where geological time, mythic symbolism, and contemporary form coexist seamlessly.
Symbolism in a Landscape of Memory -Studioproba Echoes of the Infinite Giza Pyramids

Set directly in conversation with structures that have endured for over 4,500 years, the installation finds its presence through contrast:
soft forms against the pyramids’ sharp geometry
fluid silhouettes beside precise edges
intuitive curves meeting monumental history
“To see this work sit beside the pyramids and feel part of that continuum still takes my breath away,” Proba says.
Each of the three sculptures carries specific symbolic meaning:
The Eye of Horus appears as a deep-green marble arc with a central stone “pupil,” grounded by a reddish lower curve.
A circular composition frames the pyramids at select viewpoints, evoking the sun’s cyclical path.
Vertical lavender and rose pillars express transformation, while orange-red spheres rise like miniature suns.
Color and mineral properties are treated not as surface decoration, but as carriers of narrative.
Forms That Feel Unearthed From The Desert
According to StudioPROBA, the sculptures were shaped to appear as if they had emerged naturally from the desert floor — worn by imagined wind, water, and light. Through countless iterations, a triad of forms came together, mirroring the presence of the three pyramids.
“The materials already contain beauty and movement,” Proba says. “I simply revealed what was already there.”
