OLOID.FD: A Futuristic eVTOL Concept Imagined Through Virtual Design

Updated: Nov 9

With its sculptural form and aerodynamic precision, OLOID.FD eVTOL design represents a new vision for the future of mobility — an electric vertical takeoff and landing concept created entirely within the digital realm. Conceived on Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the project showcases how virtual tools and creative engineering can merge to imagine next-generation transportation.

Rather than being built to fly, OLOID.FD exists as a virtual twin, designed to explore performance, structure, and form through simulation. Each phase of development involved rigorous aerodynamic testing, refining every curve and surface for optimal efficiency. The continuous pursuit of lightweight materials and sustainability remained central to the process, ensuring that innovation extended beyond aesthetics into ecological responsibility.

Designing the Future, Virtually

OLOID.FD e VTOL design was refined through iterative 3D modeling and simulation, allowing designers, modelers, and engineers to collaborate seamlessly in real time. Using the 3DEXPERIENCE ecosystem, every decision — from aerodynamics to energy efficiency — could be evaluated, tested, and optimized without the need for a physical prototype.

This dynamic, feedback-driven workflow not only accelerated progress but also highlighted the potential of virtual prototyping as a sustainable design methodology. Through precise digital craftsmanship, the OLOID.FD evolved into a symbol of creativity unbound by physical constraints.

A Creative Odyssey - OLOID.FD eVTOL design

OLOID.FD e VTOL design destiny was never to soar through real skies. Its essence lies in its creative odyssey — the exploration of how imagination, science, and digital tools can merge to redefine design thinking. With its futuristic silhouette and parametric precision, the project stands as a testament to the boundless possibilities of virtual mobility design.

“The future of mobility transcends geography,” says Takumi, one of the project’s lead designers. “We need vehicles that combine safety, speed, and sustainability — connecting people not just physically, but conceptually.”

In this vision, OLOID.FD is more than an aircraft. It’s a philosophy of movement, an exploration of how design can move beyond limitations and toward a seamless synthesis of imagination and innovation.
